They over-promise
There is a 1-man band snagger that offers a lifetime customer service that even comes with a shiny certificate. Others will charge extra to chase up the builder for you. Chasing up the builder sounds great in theory, however someone behind a desk cannot liaise with trades on site nor check snags are complete! Providing extra unnecessary services in addition to conducting a survey is a common tactic. |

They do not take photographs
A photograph is crucial to understand the location and issue at hand. We have seen trades trying to understand a typed up list and it causes tremendous confusion for them and the customer. We take a picture of everything, and each snag is time-stamped to prove liability. |

They use no equipment and are not qualified
Increasingly we find new start-up snaggers try to copy what we do. There is one 'company' (that is in fact just 1 person) that offers to carry out a thermographic inspection within the cost. Be aware of this as you have to be qualified to use such equipment. Similarly if a snagger turns up to your door wearing a suit, we guarantee they will not be inspecting the nitty gritty aspects of your home. |

Their Google Ad says they are "the number 1 snagging company!"
Our reputation and service in the marketplace has earned us the ability to say we are the market leaders. A paid advert on the other hand does not. Confidence and verified reviews over the years have placed our organic listing (on most relevant search terms) as 1st or 2nd place. |

They ask for 100% payment upfront
We know that investing in a snagging inspection service is not cheap. We want to prove to you the value of our service before charging you the full amount. Also, if you change your mind within 24 hours of booking you get the full deposit (£49) returned no questions asked. Be wary of cowboy companies that try and copy our service - see here to ready what some unfortunately customers have gone through as a result of being lured into going with a cheap company:- https://www.reviews.co.uk/company-reviews/store/newbuildsurvey-co-uk |

They do not provide an example report on their website
If you have to ask a snagging company for an example report, likelihood is it will not be worth the paper it is written on. We proudly display recent inspections carried out by each of our inspectors to demonstrate what you can expect from us. You can see our example reports here. As standard, our customers get a snag report and an overview report which demonstrates the array of checks carried out. |

They under-charge
When a snagging company under-charges, you have to question why. Most are new start-ups that copy what we do, but they likely do not have the relevant insurance and other important measures in place, never mind experience and qualifications. Other established companies continue in their old ways to produce reports that are sub-standard... and they know it, so charge less. |
