Our new build snagging survey is suitable for homeowners that have just moved in or are still within the 2 year warranty period the builder offers to remedy issues. We use specialist equipment and a refined process to ensure your property is inspected thoroughly. We provide a photographic report alongside an excel version within 48 hours.

The range of checks we carry out on our new build snagging survey includes:-

The timescale builders require a snagging list from you varies from just a couple of days to a few months. If you have bought through a large developer such as Bovis, Persimmon, Barratt, Bellway, Bloor, Taylor Wimpey, Redrow (etc) we recommend that the new build survey is carried out during the first 2 months. The reason for this is in relation to the 'HBF survey' which you will receive 8 weeks after completion. It is important for your builder to address the items on our snagging survey to ensure they receive a good rating when you come to complete the survey.

It is common for us to also snag a property much further after completion if customers are experiencing issues. The latest timeframe we would recommend carrying out a new build snagging survey would be <2 years after completion. Whilst the property will be within the NHBC (or other) 10 year warranty period, it is the developers warranty period of 2 years that really counts getting the snags rectified.

This is why we offer a 12-18 month survey at a discounted rate, which we call the Essentials Survey. A new-build property will go through the settlement process over this time and it gives us the chance to raise any other issues that may have developed over the year. These extras will be offered when booking the snagging survey which you can do easily online or by calling our office.
